Seattle Aquarium

On the last day of my brother Josh's visit, we decided to check out the Seattle aquarium.  We also got some good views of the Seattle Great Wheel.  Unfortunately we didn't have time to ride it but it is definitely something we will check out on Josh's next visit!  Here are some photos of our fun day:

4th of July

We had our 3rd annual 4th of July block party this year.  We had a great turnout - members from every house on our block plus lots of additional friends and family.  My brother Josh flew out again to join in the festivities.  It has become an annual tradition to have him here for the 4th!  We woke up to very cloudy weather, but eventually the sun came out and we had a really nice afternoon.

Father's Day

For Father's Day this year I decided to take us on a little adventure.  We had never been to Vashon Island which is just a short ferry ride from West Seattle.  So I booked us reservations for brunch at a restaurant on the island.  After getting up and watching Daddy open all of his gifts, we hopped in the car and drove to the ferry dock in West Seattle.  The ferry ride only took 20 minutes but it still gave the kids some time to go up top and check out the scenery.  They like looking for jelly fish.

Our reservations were at a place called The Hardware Store.  It is a restaurant located in the building where the old Vashon Hardware Company was located over 120 years ago.  Very cool place and great food!

After eating we decided to explore a bit.  We went down to the shore to look for shells, little crabs & other creatures.

On the way back to the ferry terminal, we stopped at a playground for a little bit.

Then we got back on the ferry to head home so Dave could watch the last day of the US Open golf tournament on TV.

We had a very fun time on Vashon and a great day celebrating a wonderful dad!
