Putt Putt

Over Memorial Day weekend, we took the kids out for their first round of miniature golf at the Family Fun Center.  Both of them managed to get holes in one.  Kate was a bit distracted by all of the other rides and games so she was ready to be done after 18 holes.  Jack on the other hand, was just getting his stride at that point.  So I took Kate to ride the carousel and a few other rides while Dave and Jack played another 18 holes!

Putting right-handed

And left-handed

And right-handed.  We still haven't figured out if he is right or left-handed.  He still seems to do everything with both.

Jack's Clean Teeth

Jack had his first trip to the dentist to have his teeth cleaned a couple of weeks ago.  He did great!  No fussing at all.  Here are some pics of his bravery.

Learning about all of the tools from the hygienist

Trying out the rinse & suction tools

Leaning back to watch some cartoons

Cool shades to shield the glare of the light & headphones to hear the cartoons

Lots of hands in that little mouth!

They completely spoiled him when he was done with prizes, a balloon, a bag of tooth care supplies and even a teddy bear!  I don't think he wanted to leave!  Kate also got her teeth cleaned at the same time.  She is an old pro now.  She did great as well - no cavities!  Let's hope my visit this week goes just as well!

Time for Tea

The kids' daycare decided to hold their Mother's Day celebrations this week so I got to attend two separate tea parties.  On Tuesday I attended a Mother's Day tea with Jack's class.  We had cookies, pastries, juice and raspberry iced tea.

This is the beautiful picture frame that he made me.

On Friday, I got to attend a Mother's Day tea with Kate's class.  My mom happened to be in town so she got to attend as well.  The kids sang a few songs about moms and then we had muffins, brownies & other snacks.  Interestingly enough, there was no tea :).

Kate gave me her handprint to hang up

She also gave me a cookbook featuring all of the kids' favorite foods and what they think the recipes are for them - pretty hilarious.  Kate's favorite food is black beans and rice.  Her recipe calls for:

1,530 beans
1,530 rice
1 water

Put it on a plate, then put it in the oven for 10 minutes.

Now that's a lot of beans & rice!

Looking forward to celebrating the actual Mother's Day with my two little ones next weekend!
