Easter

The Easter Bunny is still very tired from this weekend's festivities.  But I'm taking a few moments to share some of the highlights before I take a nice long nap (I wish).

Kate and I actually kicked off the Easter festivities last week by going to see "Hop" at the movie theater.  We had a great time and she even shared her licorice with me!

On Saturday we had a rare day of sunshine.  It actually got over 60 degrees - that may have been the first time this year.  You will notice that Jack is wearing shorts and Kate has a sundress on.  We took full advantage of the sun.  We were invited to an impromptu egg hunt in the Schufreider's back yard with Luke and Chloe.  This was Jack's first egg hunt and he seemed to catch on just fine.  But he did get bored after about the 10th egg and put down his basket to go play.

After the kids went to bed and the rain started coming down once again, the Easter Bunny got to work hiding eggs and setting out the baskets of goodies.  This year the Bunny got pails in lieu of baskets which can be used outside for all sorts of fun (if it is ever sunny again).  Wasn't that smart of the Bunny?

Kate received the Barbie she has been wishing for and Jack got his first real basketball.  Have I mentioned he likes basketball?

They found all of the eggs hidden throughout the downstairs before settling down to have some breakfast.

The kids also each got one present from Mommy & Daddy.  We have a rule that we can only get them gifts on special occasions.  So I tend to go a little overboard any time a holiday rolls around!  Kate received a little Strawberry Shortcake doll house, which is just so funny since I grew up on Strawberry Shortcake myself.  And Jack got a Stand 'n Play rampway for his cars.

When Jack went down for his nap, Kate and I dyed some eggs which turned out beautifully.

And after naptime, we finished out the day by going over to Grandma & Poppa Larsen's for a delicious Easter dinner!  Uncle Jeff was in town from Gonzaga and Uncle Kevin & Aunt Kari were there too.

Whew!  What a busy weekend!  No wonder I'm tired!  Well off to rest these big Bunny feet.  Until next year...
