St. Patty's & Easter

Dave was away on a golf trip on St. Patrick's Day this year.  So I tried to do a few extra things for the kids.  They woke up to find rainbows and gold coins at their places at the kitchen table.

Then I made green pancakes which were a big hit - I think it was the whipped cream & sprinkles on top.

Jack decided there was nothing greener than the Hulk!

Kate sporting her shamrocks!

We also went to the mall which was probably not their favorite part of the day.  But on the way home we stopped and played at a park.  It was freezing so we didn't last very long.

When we got home we made green velvet cupcakes.  I used lots of green food coloring that day!

We actually started out our Easter celebrations this year on St. Patrick's Day.  I took the kids shoe shopping and they happened to see the Easter Bunny as we walked by him in the mall.  They insisted on visiting him and getting their picture taken with him!  A very unplanned photo, but still cute!

We lucked out this year and had a warm sunny Easter weekend.  So the Easter Bunny had no problems getting to our house.  He left baskets for Kate and Jack and hid lots of eggs for them to find.

After finding all the eggs and checking out all of the goodies in their baskets, we had pancakes for breakfast.  I made a last minute attempt at making them shaped like bunnies.  I think they turned out more like long-eared pigs.  But the kids didn't seem to mind.

Then we dyed our eggs and turned them into cool jungle animals thanks to a fun little set from Target (I love that place).

Then we got dressed and ready to head to Grandma's house!

The kids had lots of fun playing outside in the sun.

We had a delicious Easter dinner and got to have some quality time with Grandma Cecile, Poppa Dave, Uncle Kevin, Aunt Kari and Uncle Jeff!  Such a fun day!
